Most debris from a remodel, roof job, or cleanout can go in your container. The limits come from what the Borough landfill will take with regular trash.
The Borough keeps several items out of regular trash. That list includes containers holding more than a gallon of liquid, contaminated soil, cooking oil and grease, and radioactive material. Sewage and septic waste are banned too.
Hazardous waste, liquids, paint, solvents, fuel, and asbestos can't go in a standard dumpster either. Asbestos needs its own separate handling at the landfill. For household chemicals, the Borough runs a Household Hazardous Waste collection by appointment on the fourth Thursday of each month. It takes antifreeze, batteries, motor oil, gasoline, diesel, and latex or oil-based paint.
Electronics are handled a little differently here. The Borough's Central Recycling Facility accepts household electronics for recycling, so that's the better place for old TVs and computers.
Mention appliances when you book, especially fridges and freezers. If you're unsure about any item, ask your account manager before it goes in.
