Food vendors bring the health district into it. The Southern Nevada Health District treats any public gathering with at least one food vendor as a special event, inspects every temporary permit on the day, and wants applications at least 7 calendar days out. Plan handwashing stations beside the food, not just toilets.

The Standard Porta Potty does the bulk of the work: toilet, urinal, paper holder, sanitizer, nothing fancy. Framing crews and backyard gatherings both run on it.
The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty trades footprint for access: no step up, a door wide enough for a chair, grab bars, and floor space to turn. Public events want one on site.
The Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty adds a flushing bowl and much better odor control, which matters more here in summer than almost anywhere.

A unit on private ground, a yard, a driveway, or a fenced job site, needs no City permit. Public ground and organized events are a different story.
Events. Henderson runs event approvals through the Police Department, which uses the process to weigh the effect on public safety. The Special Events and Permitting Section handles parade and public assembly, special event, block party, and film permits, and you can reach it at 702-267-5015. A parade or public assembly packet needs proof of insurance and barricade plans, and barricade information comes from Public Works.
Parks and block parties. A gathering of more than 150 people in a city park, counting spectators, counts as a public assembly and needs a permit on top of any Parks and Recreation reservation. A block party request goes in at least 30 days ahead, with your neighbors' approval documented.
State highways. For a state road, Nevada's transportation department issues a temporary occupancy permit covering special events, parades, filming, and temporary construction access. Submit it two months ahead, longer for a big event, and don't assume anything is authorized until the permit is processed.
Food vendors. Every vendor needs a temporary permit from the health district, filed at least 7 calendar days out, and each one gets inspected the day of the event.

Level, compacted ground is the first thing to look for. Caliche pads and freshly graded lots shift, and a unit that starts level can lean after a week of heavy use. Give the driver a straight approach, and remember that gated communities and secured job sites need access arranged ahead of the visit, not at the gate.
Keep units at least 15 feet from food service and away from wells, washes, and storm drains. On a job site, put them within about 200 feet of the work so crews aren't crossing open ground in 110-degree heat. At an event, break them into clusters and set the accessible unit on firm, flat footing. Shade helps more here than anywhere else, so use it when you have it.
A normal rental includes a weekly stop: the tank gets pumped, the interior gets washed down, and paper and sanitizer get topped up. Through the summer, twice a week is common on busy sites, and it's worth budgeting for.
The haul is regulated by the health district: every pumper truck working in Clark County must be inspected and permitted every year. Henderson's own water reclamation facility treats the city's wastewater and returns it to Lake Mead, with reclaimed water going back out to irrigate parks, playing fields, and construction sites.
