Most building and cleanout debris is fine. The limits come from Mississippi's rules for debris sites, which is where Senatobia's debris goes.
The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality bars several items from every debris site in the state. Household garbage and food waste are on that list, which surprises many people. So are liquids, sludge, contaminated soil, paint and paint buckets, oil and chemical containers, engines and motors, whole tires, and all batteries.
Refrigerators and air conditioners are also turned away unless the state approves them. Regulated asbestos, medical waste, and toxic or hazardous waste can't go in either.
For tires, Tate County runs a waste tire collection site at 910 E. F. Hale Jr. Drive in Senatobia. Hazardous waste, liquids, paint, solvents, fuel, and asbestos all need their own disposal route.
If you're unsure about any item, ask your account manager before it goes in the container.
