The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty gives you a wider door, a flat entry, grab bars, and floor space to turn a wheelchair. Bring at least one to anything the public can walk into.

On private ground, a yard, a driveway, a farm, or a fenced job site, you won't need a City permit. The rules kick in the moment a unit sits on public ground.
Streets, alleys, and sidewalks. Anything placed in the City right-of-way needs the go-ahead from Peoria Public Works. The general right-of-way use permit costs $20 and asks for your contact details, the exact address, and a simple site plan. Start with the Engineering Division on Dries Lane at 309-494-8800.
Blocking a lane or walk. A closure permit covers anything that blocks a street, alley, or sidewalk, and the City wants a traffic control plan its traffic engineer signs off on. Parking-lane storage alone, the category that fits equipment left at the curb, runs $20 for every 30 days.
Events. A special event permit applies to any gathering of 20 or more people on City property, which takes in streets, parking lots, riverfront areas, City parks, and rights-of-way. File through the Office of Accounts Receivable at 309-494-8588, and file early: the fee is $50.00 at 60 days out, $75.00 between 30 and 59 days, and $125.00 inside 29 days. Anyone selling food needs a temporary license from the Peoria City/County Health Department, and an organizer running three or more food vendors files a coordinator sheet at least 15 business days out.
