The Standard Porta Potty covers most job sites, roofing crews and backyard work. It holds a toilet, a urinal, a paper holder and hand sanitizer.
The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty enters at ground level and has a wide door, grab bars and turning space for a wheelchair. Include one at any public event in White Plains.

A unit on private ground, such as your own driveway, a fenced job site or a company lot, normally needs no city permit. Public space is a different story, and White Plains keeps those approvals in two places.
Streets and sidewalks: The city's Department of Public Works handles this. DPW Code Enforcement issues permits for street and sidewalk obstructions at 914-422-1208, and the same office covers street opening and sidewalk permits. The DPW highway bureau maintains all city-owned roads and can be reached at 914-422-1202. City Hall is at 255 Main Street.
Events: Special event permits go through the Department of Public Safety. Applications are taken in person at the Data Management Unit between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., or you can email the special events form. Allow at least two weeks, and note there is no application fee. Public Safety is at 77 South Lexington Avenue, 914-422-6111.
Parks and parking: Space controlled by Recreation and Parks is booked with that department, and metered on-street or garage spaces for an event are arranged through the Parking Department.
State highways: Routes such as Westchester Avenue and Tarrytown Road belong to the state system, and any work in that right-of-way needs a NYSDOT highway work permit. Parades and similar events use a special use permit from the same office.
Food vendors: Temporary food service permits come from the local health department, which for White Plains is the Westchester County Department of Health at 148 Martine Avenue, 914-813-5000.
