The 15-Yard Dumpster is a good pick for a garage cleanout, carpet removal, or a small roof tear-off.

If your dumpster stays on private property, like a driveway, you generally won't need a City permit in Golden. That changes once any part of it sits in the public right-of-way.
The City's permits page says right-of-way permits are required for dumpsters and storage pods. The right-of-way includes streets, sidewalks, trails, parking lanes, alleys, and bike lanes. Colorado has banned throwing electronics in a landfill since July 1, 2013. That covers TVs, computers, monitors, and other devices, along with their parts. Golden's own large item pickup won't take TVs or other electronics either.
The City's trash and recycling FAQs add more items to keep separate. Its large item pickup turns away tires, batteries, paint, chemicals, medical waste, and appliances with Freon. Those items need their own disposal route, not a dumpster.
Paint, solvents, fuel, and asbestos can't go in a standard dumpster. Household chemicals can go to the Rooney Road Recycling Center by appointment.
