Bannock County collects household hazardous waste for free at the Fort Hall Mine Landfill on the first Saturday of each month from April through October, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. That's the place for paint, thinners, solvents, pesticides, antifreeze, car batteries, propane cylinders, pool chemicals, and old computers.
Tires need special handling. Idaho requires landfills to process tires to reduce their volume before burying them, and the county charges a fee for each one. Keep tires and refrigeration units out of the main load.
