Idaho law allows waste tires to be disposed of only at permitted landfills approved to take them, and only after they've been shredded. At the county's transfer stations, tires on rims are always charged, and so is roofing. Keep tires out of your dumpster and mention them when you book.
Hazardous waste, liquids, paint, solvents, fuel, and asbestos aren't allowed in a standard dumpster. Kootenai County takes household hazardous waste at the Prairie Transfer Station on Fridays and Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a 10-gallon daily limit.
