The 15-Yard Dumpster fits a kitchen update, a garage cleanout, or tearing out flooring in part of a home. It adds room without a big price jump.
The 20-Yard Dumpster is a common choice for whole-house cleanouts and roof tear-offs on a typical home.
The 30-Yard Dumpster works for major remodels, additions, and new builds. It takes a lot of mixed debris.
The 40-Yard Dumpster is our largest. It's made for commercial construction, large demolition, and warehouse cleanouts.

A dumpster on private property, like your driveway or a job site, usually doesn't need a City permit in Reno. If it sits in the public right-of-way, a permit is required.
The City's Public Works permits page explains that anyone using the right-of-way for temporary storage or construction needs a temporary encroachment permit. That includes large dumpsters and mobile storage containers. Smaller requests are usually processed within three business days, while larger projects can take three to five weeks.

The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection bars used oil and batteries from landfills. It also treats waste tires as special waste with their own handling rules. Fluorescent tubes contain mercury and should be kept out of the trash too.
Hazardous waste, liquids, paint, solvents, fuel, and asbestos can't go in a standard dumpster either. Many auto parts stores take used oil and car batteries, so set those aside.
