The limits come from the landfill's rules. The Ada County Landfill doesn't take hazardous waste, which includes anything flammable, corrosive, explosive, reactive, or toxic. Asbestos needs a certification before it can be disposed of. Refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners that hold Freon are charged per item because of the special handling.
Hazardous waste, liquids, paint, solvents, fuel, and asbestos can't go in a standard dumpster.
The landfill has a separate recovery area for appliances, metal, electronics, clean wood, and tires, so tell us about those items before you load them.
