Massachusetts has some of the strictest disposal rules in the country, and many of them touch renovation debris.
The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection keeps a list of waste bans. Materials that can't be thrown away as regular trash include asphalt pavement, brick and concrete, clean gypsum drywall, metals, cardboard and recyclable paper, old tube TVs, large appliances, leaves and yard waste, mattresses, and textiles. Wood and whole tires are banned from landfills.
That doesn't mean these items can't ride in a roll-off. It means the load has to go to a site that pulls them out for recycling, so tell us what's in it.
Hazardous waste, liquids, paint, solvents, fuel, and asbestos can't go in a standard dumpster at all. If something on your list is a question mark, ask your account manager before it goes in.
