A few things decide where your Omaha quote lands.

The 15-Yard Dumpster covers a basement cleanout, a kitchen tear-out, or a garage roof. It gives you more space for a modest bump in price.
The 20-Yard Dumpster is a go-to size in Omaha for hail roof replacements on a typical house. It also handles whole-home cleanouts and remodels that span several rooms.
The 30-Yard Dumpster is made for large renovations, new home builds, and interior demolition. Pick it when the job produces a big pile of mixed material.

If the dumpster stays on private property, such as your driveway or a job site, you won't typically need a permit in Omaha. Once any part of it sits on a street, sidewalk, alley, or other right-of-way, the City steps in.
For that, the City of Omaha Public Works Department issues a Street Obstruction Permit. You'll need a site plan that shows where the container sits, with distances to the nearest property line, curb, and street corner. The permit also calls for proof of insurance that names the City as an additional insured and a signed agreement that holds the City harmless. The Permits and Inspections Division reviews both.
Because of the insurance piece, the permit is often filed by the company placing the container. Plan to have it approved before delivery day.

Most remodeling and cleanout debris is fine to load. The limits come from Nebraska's landfill bans and from what the landfill will take.
Nebraska keeps several items out of every regulated landfill, including the one that serves Omaha. The banned list covers waste oil and paint in liquid form, though dried paint is fine. Car and truck batteries are banned, along with household appliances, tires of any kind, and unregulated hazardous waste.
Hazardous waste, liquids, paint, solvents, fuel, and asbestos can't go in a standard dumpster either.
If you live in Douglas or Sarpy County, the Under the Sink site at 120th and I Street takes waste oil, liquid paint, and many other household chemicals. Appliances and tires need their own plan, so mention them when you book.
