The Standard Porta Potty is the workhorse across the valley: one stall with a toilet, a urinal, a paper holder, and sanitizer, fitted with the internal latch the state rule calls for.
The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty enters at ground level with a wide door, grab bars, and turning room. Put one in each group at a public event.
The Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty brings a flush and better odor control, which is what a winery wedding or a tasting room event wants.

Units on ground you control, a yard, a farm block, or a fenced job site, don't normally need city paperwork. An organized event is a different story, and Yakima is specific about it.
Special events and parades: The city's event guidelines say portable toilets should be provided for attendees or public restrooms made available, and they print the health district's one-per-fifty figure for an all-day event. Your site plan has to show exactly where the units, tents, and stages will sit.
Filing and cost: A $250 non-refundable permit fee goes in with the application, and the city won't start processing until it's paid. Turn the application in less than 45 days before the event and a $1,000 late fee is added on top. Liability coverage naming the city has to come with the application too.
Street closures: If you're closing a street, the plan must show the closure points and an emergency vehicle lane at least 20 feet wide along the whole length. Plan your unit placement around that lane, not into it.
Trash and structures: Arrange garbage receptacles at least three weeks ahead on 509-575-6005. Temporary structures over 400 square feet need a building inspection, though portable toilets are specifically left out of that requirement. Code Administration takes questions on 509-575-6126.
Food vendors: Vendors selling food need a temporary food establishment permit through the Yakima Health District unless they meet a listed exemption. The food program line is 509-249-6508.
State highways: For an event on a state route, WSDOT wants notice at least 90 days ahead, and a letter of agreement carries no application fee. Work inside the state right-of-way needs a general permit instead.

Start with level, compacted ground. A unit on a slope is unsteady, and loose orchard soil or a freshly graded pad can shift once a unit is loaded.
Leave a real approach for the truck. We need room alongside and clearance for the tank arm, which matters on narrow orchard rows and between parked equipment at a job site. On a job site, keep units within about 200 feet of the work so nobody walks off their break.
Hold units at least 15 feet from any food service, and away from wells, irrigation ditches, canals, and storm inlets. At an event, split them into a few small groups rather than one long line, and keep the accessible units on flat, solid footing near the main path.
Weekly service is the baseline, and picking crews or a fair weekend will want two. Washington's rules count what comes out of a portable toilet as septage, and the state's ecology agency runs the permit system covering septage management. Locally, the Yakima Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant on East Viola treats about 10 million gallons a day for Yakima, Union Gap, Terrace Heights, and Moxee, with capacity for more than twice that, and returns the treated water to the Yakima River.
