The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty enters at ground level and has a wide door, grab bars and space for a wheelchair to turn. Include one at any event open to the public.
The Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty adds a flush and better odor control, which guests notice at a winery wedding or a company party.
The Deluxe Porta Potty with Sink carries a sink, soap and mirror inside the unit, handy where there's no room for a separate station.
The Solar Porta Potty runs its light and fan on solar power, which is the practical answer on a mesa site or a remote pad with no power.

On private ground, such as your own yard, an orchard, or a fenced job site, you normally won't need a city permit. Public ground is where timing matters, and Grand Junction has two different clocks.
City property and streets: A special event permit covers events in public streets or on other city property, including parks and trails. Applications are due at least 21 days ahead. If the event is in the right-of-way, that jumps to 90 days, and a late application can be turned down. Call 970-254-3801 for help with the process.
Insurance and cleanup: The city's permit guidelines ask for general liability cover of at least $600,000, naming the City as additional insured, with the certificate in hand at least five business days before the event. Barricades and traffic control are the organizer's job, and so is leaving the site as you found it.
Downtown: Events inside the downtown area are handled by the Business Improvement District instead, through the Downtown Event Coordinator at 970-255-4923. Alcohol goes through the City Clerk at 970-244-1510.
State highways: I-70, US 50 and the state routes through the valley stay under state control even inside town. CDOT issues the permits for work and events in that right-of-way, and Grand Junction is one of its region offices.
Food vendors: Mesa County Public Health asks event coordinators running events with food to file a coordinator plan review 30 days ahead and to list their vendors.

Set units on firm, level ground and give the truck a straight approach. Loose Mancos shale, irrigation ditches and soft orchard rows are the usual traps here, so a gravel pad or plywood base is worth the small effort.
Keep units at least 15 feet from food service and well away from irrigation canals, ditches, wells and storm drains. On a job site, place them within about 200 feet of the work. At an event, spread them into small groups near entrances and vendor rows, and keep a firm, flat path to the accessible units.
Standard service is once a week to pump, wash and restock. High summer, a crew above 20, or a multi-day festival usually calls for two visits or more.
Where the waste goes is unusually clear in this valley. The city's Persigo Wastewater Treatment Facility on River Road accepts hauled waste from permitted haulers, and portable toilets are on its list of allowed wastes. Only waste generated inside Mesa County is taken, every load is manifested, and a hauler has to hold a county systems cleaner license before the city will permit it.
