Most household and construction debris loads without any trouble. The limits come from Georgia disposal rules and from what the county drop-off centers will accept.
Georgia keeps yard trimmings out of lined landfills. Leaves, grass, brush, shrub and tree prunings, and old Christmas trees all have to be separated from the rest of the waste stream. Land-clearing material such as stumps and big limbs is treated differently, so ask before you mix the two.
Car batteries are barred from mixed household trash statewide and have to go back to a retailer or an authorized collection point. Hazardous waste, liquids, paint, solvents, fuel, motor oil, and asbestos are out of a standard container as well.
The county drop-off centers add their own refusals. They will not take paint, tires, hazardous materials, car batteries, or dead animals. The City's bulk pickup won't take construction debris, batteries, or tires either, which is exactly the gap a roll-off container fills.
