Most cleanout junk and building debris can go in a dumpster. What can't go in depends on Maryland's landfill rules and on the facility that takes your load.
Hazardous waste, liquids, paint, solvents, fuel, and asbestos stay out of any standard dumpster. The county landfill also refuses compressed gas cylinders, auto parts, and chemical or petroleum cleanup waste.
Construction debris needs its own plan. The Brown Station Road landfill doesn't take construction and demolition debris, shingles, pallets, soil, rocks, or stumps. If your job mixes household junk with building debris, tell us so the load goes to the right place.
For household chemicals and old electronics, Prince George's County runs drop-off sites at the landfill on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
