Regular household and job debris is fine. The restrictions come from what the receiving facility turns away and from the way Laurel handles household hazardous material.
Nothing hazardous goes in the container. That means oil-based paint, thinners and solvents, brake fluid, antifreeze, motor oil, pesticides and herbicides, gasoline and kerosene, and car batteries. The City of Laurel won't collect those or take them as drop-offs, and points residents to County collection events instead.
Liquids, asbestos, medical waste, compressed cylinders, radioactive material, and ash are all refused at the gate as well. Loose soil, rock, stumps, and logs are separate problems that need their own arrangement.
Electronics, fluorescent bulbs, and lithium batteries have their own routes in Laurel rather than going in with general waste. Wet latex paint needs the City's spring or autumn collection event, though latex that has been dried out completely can go with regular debris.
If an item sits somewhere in the middle, check with your account manager before it goes in the container.
