The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty is the roomy unit with a flat entry, a wide door, grab bars, and turning space for a wheelchair. Any public event should have one.
The Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty adds a flush and stronger odor control, and guests at a reception or a fundraiser notice right away.

A unit sitting on your own lot, driveway, or fenced construction site does not need City approval. Public events and public ground are where the paperwork starts.
Special events: The City treats a pre-planned activity as a special event when it expects more than 300 people, or when it needs City support from Parks and Recreation or the police. That covers 5K runs, walks, parades, and block parties, on private property as well as public.
What the application asks: The event permit application has you tick portable toilets among the items you are bringing, and every one of them has to appear on your site map alongside tents, vendors, and parking. Sketching the unit locations early saves a round of revisions.
Timing: Events over 300 people have to arrange police for traffic and security 30 days ahead, or the permit is pulled. Outdoor event applications at Charlie Daniels Park are taken between one month and twelve months out, and insurance naming the City is due 30 days before the date.
Street closures and state routes: Choose the street closure option on the application if you need a road shut. Anything placed in a state highway right-of-way calls for a TDOT permit from the Nashville region, and that permit does not replace the City approvals.
Food vendors: The state health department issues temporary food permits in Wilson County, and each booth needs handwashing right there.
