Most construction and cleanout debris is fine to load. Georgia's landfill rules and the receiving facility set the limits.
Georgia's solid waste rules bar landfills from accepting lead-acid batteries, liquid waste, regulated amounts of hazardous waste, radioactive waste, and PCB waste. Keep car batteries, cans of liquid, and chemicals out of your container.
Local landfills add their own list. Paulding County's landfill turns away batteries, computer equipment, gas tanks, oil, wet paint, tires, and railroad crossties. It takes refrigerators and air conditioners only for an added fee, unless a certified professional confirms the Freon was removed.
Hazardous waste, paint, solvents, fuel, and asbestos can't go in a standard dumpster either.
