Most debris from a remodel or cleanout can go in. Oregon law and the county's landfill rules set the limits.
The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality says it's illegal to dispose of certain items at any Oregon landfill. The list covers discarded vehicles, large home or industrial appliances, used oil, tires, lead-acid batteries, and computers, monitors, and TVs.
Klamath County's landfill rules add more. The county won't take hazardous waste, large dead animals, septic or vault toilet pumpings, untreated medical waste, or bulk liquids. Asbestos and soil contaminated with petroleum need approval from the county before they can come to the landfill. The landfill also won't accept anything that still contains refrigerant.
Keep paint, solvents, fuel, and propane bottles out of your container too. Appliances and tires can go to a separate area at the landfill for a fee, but not in your mixed load.

There's also an in-town transfer station on Tingley Lane, off the Southside Expressway, open Monday through Saturday. It accepts household and bulky loads priced by volume.
