Most construction and cleanout debris is fine to load. The limits come from Louisiana's landfill rules and from what the receiving landfill takes.
Louisiana bans lead-acid batteries, used oil, whole tires, and small sealed lead-acid batteries from landfills. Tires without rims are accepted at the Parish Barn during weekday hours instead.
Hazardous waste, liquids, paint, solvents, fuel, and asbestos can't go in a standard dumpster either. Liquid paint, creosote, and flammable or volatile material are all refused.
A construction landfill also turns away household trash, food waste, carpet and padding, furniture, appliances, water heaters, air conditioners, mowers, and clothing. Those belong in a separate load, so tell your account manager what the job includes before your container arrives.
