Most household and construction debris is fine to load. The limits come from Michigan's landfill rules and from the landfill's own rules.
The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy keeps a list of items banned from landfills. It includes asbestos, hazardous waste, bulk liquids, lead-acid batteries, used oil, and medical waste. Yard clippings like grass, leaves, and brush are banned too, so compost them instead.
Scrap tires can go to a landfill only after they've been cut or shredded, so leave whole tires out. Fridges, freezers, and AC units need their refrigerant removed by a certified professional first.
Paint, solvents, and fuel can't go in a standard dumpster either. If you're unsure about an item, ask your account manager before you load it.
