Most household junk and building debris can go in. The limits come from Ohio's landfill rules and from the landfill that takes your load.
The Ohio EPA says municipal landfills can't accept hazardous waste, liquids, PCB wastes, scrap tires, or yard waste. Keep brush, grass, and old tires out of your dumpster.
The Toledo landfill's own list of refused items for residents adds barrels and drums, chemicals, paint, oil, propane tanks, asbestos, mercury, and car batteries. It also turns away TVs and monitors, plus anything that holds Freon, like fridges, freezers, and air conditioners.
Hazardous waste, liquids, paint, solvents, fuel, and asbestos can't go in a standard dumpster either.
If you have an item you're not sure about, ask your account manager before it goes in.
