Most household and building debris can go in your container. Ohio's rules and the landfill that receives your load set the limits.
Ohio law bans open dumping, so waste has to go to a licensed facility. State law also keeps lead-acid batteries, like car batteries, out of solid waste disposal, and scrap tires must go to an approved tire facility.
Hamilton County Public Health lists what local landfills refuse. Sanitary landfills won't take yard waste, tires, liquids, or hazardous waste. Construction debris landfills are stricter, so furniture, appliances, household trash, yard waste, tires, and batteries can't go in a construction debris load.
Hazardous waste, paint, solvents, fuel, and asbestos don't belong in a standard dumpster either.
