Most construction debris and household junk is fine to load. Texas sets the main limits for every landfill in the state.
Texas landfills can't accept lead-acid batteries, used motor oil from home oil changes, used oil filters, whole tires, liquid waste, regulated hazardous waste, PCB waste, or radioactive material. Refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners that hold refrigerant are also on the list.
Tires have one exception. Texas lets landfills take scrap tires once they're split, quartered, or shredded, and the NTMWD landfill takes small tires for an added fee. It won't accept loader, tractor, grader, or scraper tires.
Paint, solvents, fuel, and asbestos can't go in a standard dumpster either. For Styrofoam, the City points residents to the Environmental Collection Center at 6616 Walnut St. in Frisco.
