Most household and construction debris can go in your container. Texas sets the main limits, and they apply at every landfill in the state.
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality lists wastes no landfill may accept. They include car batteries, used motor oil and oil filters, whole tires, liquid waste, regulated hazardous waste, PCB waste, and radioactive material. Refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners that hold refrigerant are on the list too, and in Del Rio's heat, old window units turn up in a lot of cleanouts.
Tires have one exception. The state allows tires in a permitted landfill if they've been split, quartered, or shredded. Whole tires need to stay out of your dumpster.
Household electronics are treated differently. TCEQ says most household electronics can go in regular trash, though recycling them is better.
Paint, solvents, fuel, and asbestos don't belong in a standard dumpster either. If you're unsure about an item, check with your account manager before loading it.
