Most household and remodeling debris can go in. New Jersey law and the county landfill set the limits.
New Jersey bans throwing away TVs, computers, laptops, and computer monitors as regular trash. The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection explains the rule in its e-waste guidance. In Glassboro, the Borough picks up those electronics at the curb on your regular trash day, so there's no need to toss them in a dumpster.
Asbestos needs special handling. The county's recycling guide warns that it can't go in regular trash after a remodel and sends residents to the Solid Waste Complex for disposal details. Tires are a separate stream too, handled through municipal pickups and county tire amnesty days.
Hazardous waste, liquids, paint, solvents, and fuel don't belong in a standard dumpster either. For used motor oil, the Borough runs a drop-off at 125 Grove Street, open weekdays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
