Most household and remodeling debris can go in your container. New Jersey law and the county landfill's own rules set the limits.
New Jersey's e-waste law bans throwing away TVs, computers, monitors, laptops, desktop printers, and desktop fax machines. The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection lists free drop-off sites for these each year.
The county landfill has its own restrictions. It no longer accepts concrete, asphalt, or bricks, so a patio slab or chimney teardown needs a different destination. It takes appliances, electronics, and tires only from Cumberland County residents.
Hazardous waste, liquids, paint, solvents, fuel, and asbestos can't go in a standard dumpster either.
If you're unsure about an item, ask your account manager before it goes in.
