Most household junk and remodeling debris is fine to load. The limits come from Illinois landfill bans and from the transfer station that takes your load.
The Illinois EPA's list of landfill bans covers grass, leaves, and brush, along with used tires, car batteries, and motor oil. Appliances like fridges and air conditioners must have their Freon and certain parts removed first.
TVs and computers are out too. The state bans landfilling common electronics, so take them to a recycler.
The Glenview Transfer Station won't take hazardous waste, household chemicals, liquids, or paint. Solvents, fuel, and asbestos can't go in a standard dumpster either.
If you're unsure about an item, ask your account manager before it goes in.
