Several things shape the price of a dumpster in Jacksonville Beach.
The size you pick sets the base price. Bigger containers cost more, but one that's too small can add overage fees or a second haul.
Weight is the next piece. Shingles, stucco, tile, and wet debris are heavy, and sand weighs far more than it looks. Tires and appliances are charged per item at the landfill, so list them when you book.
Distance to the landfill also counts. The City of Jacksonville's Trail Ridge Landfill in Baldwin is about 40 miles west of the beaches, so each load makes a long trip. Its posted fees are $30.30 per ton for household garbage and building materials, with yard waste at $25 per ton. Mixed remodel debris is charged the same rate as household trash.
The City's trash service won't help much with a project. Jacksonville Beach says its sanitation contract doesn't cover debris left by contractors, landscapers, or tree cutters. That debris is up to the contractor or the homeowner, which is where a dumpster comes in.
