Most remodel debris, roofing, and furniture can go in your dumpster. Florida law and the county landfill set the limits.
Florida bans lead-acid batteries, used oil, and white goods like refrigerators, washers, and water heaters from landfills. Whole tires can't be buried in a landfill either.
The Broward County Landfill refuses household garbage, hazardous waste, medical waste, car batteries, used oil, and anything containing PCBs. It does take tires, but charges them at their own rate.
Hazardous waste, liquids, paint, solvents, fuel, and asbestos never belong in a standard dumpster. Bagged household trash also needs a different route, since the landfill won't take it.
If you're unsure about an item, ask your account manager before it goes in the container.
