Most debris from a remodel, a roof replacement, or a cleanout can go in your dumpster. The limits come from Florida's landfill rules and from what Broward County's landfill accepts.
Florida law keeps whole tires, lead-acid batteries, and used oil out of landfills, and it restricts appliances such as washers, refrigerators, and air conditioners. The Broward County Landfill also won't take household garbage, hazardous waste, medical waste, lead-acid batteries, used oil, or anything containing PCBs.
Hazardous waste, liquids, paint, solvents, fuel, motor oil, and asbestos can't go in a standard dumpster. Broward County holds drop-off events for household hazardous waste, and the City sends residents there.
