Most construction and household debris is fine to load. Florida law and the county landfill's own rules set the limits.
Florida keeps two common items out of the regular waste stream. Whole waste tires can't be landfilled as a final disposal method. Rechargeable batteries, and products that contain them, can't go in mixed trash either.
The county landfill adds its own list. It refuses car, lithium, and rechargeable batteries, electronics, propane tanks and other pressurized cylinders, liquid waste, mercury devices, ammunition, and hazardous waste. It does accept whole tires and treated wood as separately priced items, so mention them when you book.
Paint, solvents, fuel, and asbestos don't belong in a standard dumpster either. For household chemicals and paint, the county runs a household hazardous waste center at the same Cocoa site, open Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
If you're unsure about anything, ask your account manager before it goes in the container.
