The City of Sunrise requires an Engineering Permit for improvements within public right-of-way under its control. The Engineering Division of the Community Development Department issues it. Most remodeling and cleanout debris can go in your dumpster. Florida's landfill rules and the county landfill's own list set the limits.
Florida bans whole tires from landfills. State rules also keep lead-acid batteries, used oil, and white goods like refrigerators, washers, and water heaters out of landfill disposal. Yard trash is limited to certain landfills, so tell us if your load is mostly branches and clippings.
The Broward County Landfill adds its own refusals. It won't take household garbage, hazardous waste, biomedical waste, lead-acid batteries, used oil, or anything containing PCBs. It also accepts only waste that comes from inside Broward County.
As always, keep liquids, paint, solvents, fuel, pressurized tanks, and asbestos out of a standard dumpster. Tires and appliances should be set aside and mentioned when you book.

This matters for how you load. Because the landfill won't take household garbage, food waste and bagged kitchen trash should stay in your regular cart instead of your dumpster. A load of drywall, cabinets, flooring, and old furniture is the kind of debris it's set up for.
The City's own curbside bulk trash service won't help much with a project, either. It turns away construction, remodeling, and demolition debris, including concrete and brick, and it won't take anything a contractor produced.
