Roseville containers can take most remodel, landscaping, and cleanout debris. The limits come from California law and from the regional landfill.
California's Department of Toxic Substances Control says universal waste must go to a designated handler or recycler, never the trash or a landfill. In a typical home, that means batteries, electronics, TVs and monitors, fluorescent lamps, mercury thermostats, partly full aerosol cans, and solar panels.
Household chemicals are out as well: paint, solvents, pesticides, motor oil, antifreeze, and anything marked Danger, Caution, Warning, Flammable, or Poison. So are liquids, fuel, and asbestos. Placer County residents can drop off household hazardous waste and electronics free at the landfill every day, up to 15 gallons or 125 pounds.
Tires are billed one at a time at the landfill rather than by weight, and so are appliances. Mattresses cost nothing when you drop off up to four at the landfill yourself, but inside a mixed container they're charged like any other refuse. Pull those items out and tell us about them.
