Ordinary remodeling and cleanout debris is welcome. California pulls a long list of items out of the trash first, and those rules apply in Tulare.
CalRecycle's list of items banned from the trash covers fluorescent lamps and tubes, batteries of all sizes, latex and oil-based paint, solvents, pesticides, pool chemicals, antifreeze, motor oil and filters, tires, asbestos, treated wood, and propane cylinders. Electronics like TVs, monitors, computers, and microwaves are out as well, along with mercury items such as old thermostats.
Tires have a separate path. Woodville Landfill takes them at the counter for a per-item fee on a self-haul load, and larger quantities need paperwork before they arrive. Pull tires out of your container and let us know about them.
Appliances need the same treatment, especially anything with refrigerant inside. The landfill removes doors from appliances it accepts, and it charges per item past the first couple on a self-haul load.
Anything with a warning label belongs on a separate route. Ask your account manager, and we'll tell you where it goes.
