The 10-Yard Dumpster is right for one room taken down to the studs, a small bathroom, or a batch of broken concrete from a patio or walkway. With heavy loads like stucco or tile, this size keeps you under the weight limit.
The 15-Yard Dumpster covers garage cleanouts, a few rooms of flooring, or a tear-off on a small single-story roof. It gives you real space without the cost of a much bigger container.
The 20-Yard Dumpster is one of our most rented sizes in San Bernardino. It's a good match for a whole-home cleanout, a kitchen and bath remodel, or new flooring throughout a house.
The 30-Yard Dumpster is built for major remodels, room additions, and new homes. It keeps up when a crew is producing debris every day.
The 40-Yard Dumpster is the largest container we offer. It suits commercial buildouts, large demolition jobs, and big cleanouts at warehouses or rental properties. Make sure you have a long, open space for the truck.

If your container stays on private property, like a driveway, side yard, or job site lot, it falls outside the City's right-of-way permit. Your homeowners association may still have its own rules, so check those if you have one. Once any part of the container sits on a public street, alley, or sidewalk, the City needs to approve it.
For that, the City of San Bernardino issues a Temporary Encroachment Permit through the Public Works Engineering Division at 201 N E Street, 2nd Floor. The Master Fee Schedule lists a trash bin in the right-of-way at $100 for the first week and $25 for each extra week. A small technology fee is added on top. If the container closes a traffic lane, a separate lane closure fee applies.
The City doesn't list how long approval takes, so apply as early as you can. The Engineering Division permit counter is open Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call the permit counter at 909-998-2518 with questions. You can load most construction and household debris. The limits come from California's statewide trash rules and from the county landfills that receive the load.
California bans a long list of items from the trash. According to CalRecycle, that includes batteries, fluorescent lights, paint and paint thinner, pesticides, motor oil, antifreeze, and electronics like TVs, monitors, and computers. Asbestos and chemically treated wood are on the list as well, and tires are banned from the trash too.
The usual exclusions apply here as well. Hazardous waste, liquids, fuel, and propane tanks don't belong in a roll-off container.
Tires have a separate path at county sites. The county's fee list accepts up to nine rollable tires per load, off the rim, at $5.31 each. Let us know at booking if you have tires to get rid of.

San Bernardino sits inside the county's public disposal system. The county's Solid Waste Management Division runs five regional landfills and nine transfer stations from its office at 222 W. Hospitality Lane, 2nd Floor, San Bernardino, CA 92415.
The closest county landfill to the city is the Mid-Valley Sanitary Landfill at 2390 N. Alder Avenue, Rialto, CA 92377, just west of the city. The county runs the site. Call the Solid Waste Management Division at 909-386-8701 for current gate hours, since they can change.
County sites close on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Every load has to be covered when it arrives, or the disposal fee doubles. Your account manager can confirm which site your load is going to and explain any fees before delivery.
