Most household and building debris is fine to load. California's trash bans and the disposal site's rules set the limits.
CalRecycle, the state recycling agency, lists the waste banned from the trash across California. That includes batteries of every kind, fluorescent lamps, TVs, computers, and monitors. Paint, solvents, pesticides, pool chemicals, motor oil, and antifreeze are banned too, along with tires, asbestos, and treated wood.
Hazardous waste, liquids, fuel, and propane tanks can't go in a standard dumpster either.
On rural properties, cleanouts often turn up old fertilizers, pesticides, fuel cans, and tires. Set those aside for a household hazardous waste drop-off or a tire recycler, and mention any tires when you book.
